The ICON Position Controller is a DC motor position controller designed to interface and control the ICON H-Bridge. In addition to the ICON H-Bridge, it requires a DC motor equipped with a 2-channel quadrature encoder. PID test software (located below) may be downloaded for use with a Windows™ based PC.

When used in conjunction with the ICON Serial Adapter (ICON_AD) or the ICON Communication Module (ICON_CM), direct connection to a PC is possible. Additionally, the ICON Communication Module may be used to create an RS485 bus for controlling multiple ICON modules with a single serial interface.

The ICON Position Controller can be operated in 4 control modes. The modes are direct serial control, trapezoidal control, analog control, or velocity control. Two limit switch inputs, and a brake input are supported. Up to 16 trapezoidal movement profiles may be stored in non-volatile memory. A variety of programmable PID (and other) settings make this unit a very affordable component of a servo position control system.
